American actor Neal McDonough is known for playing so-called “bad guys” in various series productions. In his acting career, he has proven many times that he feels best in such roles. Viewers may recognize him, among others: from “Band of Brothers”, “Arrow”, “Suits” and “Yellowstone”.
McDonough, 58, joined the cast of the second season of the series “TulsaKing“, where he once again plays the role of a villain. In an interview for Interia, he talked about the process of creating this type of character on screen.
“I don’t think I’ve ever played my characters as ‘bad guys’ and I think that’s what makes them so terrifying. I want them to be someone who lives next door. I want them to just be… You know, my characters look the same. I have the same hairstyle. I have the same dressing style. I always try to keep it simple in this regard. It’s about the thought process, which is different in each of these characters,” said Neal McDonough in a conversation with Justyna Miś from Interia.
He added that he loves playing such characters.
“It’s just so much fun, especially joining this world with the amazing actors who are in this show. The cast is wonderful. Written by Terence’and Winters and Sylvester Stallone’and it’s simply flawless. I love the second season ‘TulsaKing’. I just love it,” he said.
In the second season of “Tulsa King”, Dwight (played by Sylvester Stallone) and his crew are constantly defending their empire in Tulsa. However, they begin to realize that they are not the only ones who want to rule this area. The Kansas City mob and a powerful local businessman make it difficult for Dwight to fight for the safety of his men and family and manage a multitude of affairs.
In the same conversation, Neal McDonough talked about working with the legendary star.
“What a great guy and what a decent person! I’ve been on some shows where sometimes the actor wasn’t very nice or didn’t care about his family or his faith. And I’m a person for whom faith is important. Spending time with someone who’s a lot like me, it was just… You know, in between takes, we had great conversations and we could sit down and smoke a cigar and relax and talk about life and family and kids and stories and stuff like that It’s not easy. It’s long days of work, it can be hard sometimes, but being next to Sly’and it was a pleasure spending time with him these months. He’s a wonderful man. And I’m happy that I could be a part of the second season ‘TulsaKing’ from Sly’em because he’s a guy who cares a lot,” McDonough said.
The second season of “Tulsa King” is now available on SkyShowtime.
Neal McDonough confessed that he was delighted with Poland. Years ago, the actor worked on the set in Slovakia and in his free time he commuted to Krakow. In a conversation with Interia, he admired the most beautiful aspects of the city.
“(During the filming – editor’s note) once a month I went to Krakow to a restaurant called Cyrano, where there was a wine cellar. I sat there for three hours alone. And I didn’t speak Polish. The waiters just brought me plates of food. I had a very nice time. I love Krakow, I love this city, I love the trumpeter. Krakow has so much great history. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to,” said the star.
