Movie hits! These film songs won the hearts of viewers around the world

“Bodyguard” remains one of the most popular romantic films of all time. Even though after the production’s premiere, critics unanimously accused the actors of poor performances, the film was a success not only because of its moving story, but above all thanks to the brilliant song performed by Whitney Houston.

Interestingly, “I Will Always Love You” is not an original song by the singer. It was first performed by Dolly Parton. While making the film, Whitney decided to slow down the song and this is how one of the most characteristic film musical arrangements in history was created! The song not only became Houston’s trademark, but also won her two Grammy Awards.

“The Lion King” is one of those movies that makes everyone cry. This is due to the extraordinary story, beautiful animation, but also the soundtrack used in the Disney production. Who didn’t grow up listening to songs from this iconic fairy tale?

In the 1994 film, Elton John performed one of his most famous songs. “Love grows around us” has become one of the most beautiful songs in the world and is still eagerly listened to by many people. Initially, only Timon and Pumbaa were supposed to sing the song in the animation, but the creators did not like the comic nature of this concept. Ultimately, it was concluded that the song could “express the lions’ feelings for each other much better than dialogues” and “Love grows around us” was included in a love montage.

The “Rocky” series about a successful amateur boxer has won the hearts of viewers around the world. Films starring Sylvester Stollone were huge box office successes. The third part earned as much as $270 million after its premiere and was one of the most profitable productions of the early 1980s.

Sylvester Stallone wanted the famous Queen song “Another One Bites the Dust” to be heard in the third installment. However, the creators did not agree. Then the star decided to find a band that would write him an original song for the film. “Eye of the Tiger” performed by Survivor turned out to be a hit! For six weeks it was the most popular song on the US charts and continues to enjoy undying popularity to this day.

“Dirty Dancing” turned out to be a surprise hit. The romance starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray was a low-budget production from a little-known studio. After its premiere, it earned as much as $170 million (on a budget of $6 million) and became one of the best films of 1987! Viewers still remember iconic quotes from the production and the characters’ dancing scenes.

Of course, they also remember the song to which Baby and Johnny danced in the final scene of the movie. “The Time of My Life” sung by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. It is still on many listeners’ playlists.

“Titanic” needs no introduction. It is one of the highest-grossing films in history – it was the first to exceed the threshold of one billion dollars in cinema ticket sales! It won as many as 11 awards during the Oscars and ultimately became one of the most moving films in history.

The story of Rose and Jack is touching, but it certainly wouldn’t have done as well if it weren’t for the song performed by Celine Dion. “My Heart Will Go On” conquered the charts and the hearts of viewers. I would venture to say that everyone knows at least a few words of the chorus.
