More super stars are joining “Superman”! Who is Mikaela Hoover?

“Superman” is one of the most recognizable characters in world pop culture. Even people who are not interested in comics know perfectly well who Clark Kent is and how much he did to save our planet many times.

Superman's heroic exploits have been filmed many times, and this time James Gunn took on the role of showing the adventures. Shooting for the film began in February and from time to time we learn about new names that will grace the new picture. Now we have learned that Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald will join the super family.

In the latest production that begins a new saga in the DC universe, we will see David Corenswet as Superman. The superhero as Clark Kent worked in the “Daily Planet” editorial office, which, thanks to James Gunn, is becoming more and more full.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Mikaela Hoover has joined the cast as Cat Grant. In the comics, the heroine was a gossip columnist, and in the meantime she focused all her attention on Kent. We have already met Cat before, among others: Calista Flockhart played her in the Supergirl series.

Mikaela Hoover has collaborated with James Gunn several times, including: in “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Suicide Squad” and “The Belko Experiment”.

Christopher McDonald will appear in the film as Ron Troupe – one of the best reporters in the Daily Planet editorial office. The role in the latest “Superman” will be the actor's cinema debut.

The film stars David Corenswet (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Terence Rosemore (Otis), María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer ), Edi Gathegi (Mr. Terrific), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Sean Gunn (Maxwell Lord).

The new film is intended to usher in a new era of the DC cinematic universe. At the moment, we do not know the plot details, but Gunn announced that the production will not be the origin story of the superhero. The film's premiere is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
