Max with new films and series. Among them “Oblivion” and the second season of “Velma”

“My Agent” is a Polish comedy series based on the license of the French production “Dix pour cent”. It presents the fate of an agency that takes care of cinema, television and theater stars. Employees have to deal with capricious celebrities, and viewers quickly find out that taking care of them means not only visits to movie sets and paths strewn with roses, but also fulfilling their abstract whims. Two seasons of the series will debut on the platform on April 18.

“Sierra Madre” is a Mexican production about a high-ranking family that moves among the elite of Monterrey. From the perspective of this family, viewers will experience a slow vivisection of an environment in which not everything is as it may initially seem, but everyone is able to do everything to maintain the apparent idyllicity of their own lives. On April 21, the first two episodes will appear on the platform, then each week we will be able to watch the next one.

“Velma: Season II” is an animated production that is a kind of “origin story” for Velma Dinkley. The fifteen-year-old heroine becomes the main suspect in a mysterious murder case and, together with her friends, she will try to prove her innocence and find the real perpetrator. The first season of the series was crushed by critics and viewers, but perhaps the creators have drawn some conclusions and the next one will be received much warmer. We will find out on April 25.

“Oblivion” (Joseph Kosinski, 2013) presents the fate of the Earth in 2077, which was sterilized as a result of excessive radiation. Jack Harper is one of the few who has not yet moved to Saturn's moon Titan. The hero is patrolling and servicing damaged drones, but his routine life changes when he meets a beautiful survivor. He begins to question his previous knowledge and becomes the only person who will be able to save the planet. Tom Cruise stars and the film will be released on Max on April 19.

“Dead Men Don't Die” (Jim Jarmusch, 2019) tells the story of a small-town community affected by a series of events that cannot be explained. The animals start behaving strangely, and what's worse, the dead people don't die. Although it is not the director's most outstanding film, it will certainly find its enthusiasts. Playing with the iconography of the genre and the performances of the actors are really funny, but the moral is presented too clearly. Jarmusch's work can be viewed from April 26.

“Llegaron de noche” (Imanol Uribe, 2022) is a film that will probably have the Polish title “What Lucía Saw”. The plot will be based on real events and will present the story of a cleaner working at the Central American University, who was the only witness to the murder of eight people by the Salvadoran army. The production will also debut on April 26.

“The Cursed Season II: The Life and Death of Robert Durst” is a treat for fans of productions revealing the behind-the-scenes of true crimes. The second season reliably shows the eight years of the trial that followed the arrest of the accused before the broadcast of the last episode of the first season. The creators expose the millionaire's actions and reach witnesses who were previously afraid to speak, presenting the enormity of his sinister nature. The first episode will air on Max on April 21, with episodes to follow on a weekly basis.
