“Matylda”: What is it about, when will the TV premiere of the first episode be?

“Matilda” is a historical costume series on TVP. The picture was directed by Krzysztof Lang, whose credits include productions such as “Magda M”, “Marzec ’68”, “Breakfast in bed” and “Commissioner Alex”. The title character Matilda was played by Maria Kowalska. On the screen you will also be able to see, among others, Mirosław Haniszewski, Grażyna Sobocińska, Małgorzata Buczkowska and Robert Czebotar.

“Matilda” presents the story of almost eighteen-year-old Matylda Bilińska. The girl studies in one of the boarding schools (girls’ boarding school) in the Lublin region, showing insubordination towards the owner of the boarding house. Soon, Matylda runs away and tries to find shelter in an estate belonging to her father’s friends who participated in the January Uprising.

The plot of the series takes place in 19th-century Poland under partition. The production presents various social classes – from aristocracy to peasants. The titular Matilda rebels against the rules of the world around her, which often gets her into trouble. According to information provided on the TVP website, the new series is “a story about the fight for rights, honor and the highest virtue, which is love.”

A new Polish series “Matilda” It debuted on the TVP VOD platform some time ago, meeting with positive reception from viewers. However, the television premiere will take place on Sunday, March 10. First episode “Matilda” will be available to watch then on TVP1 at 20:20. Replay viewers will watch this episode on Friday, March 15 at 11:25 p.m. on TVP1.
