Mastercard OFF Camera: Marta Nieradkiewicz on “Fear” and independent cinema

At the end of 2023, we could watch Marta Nieradkiewicz in an intriguing road movie titled “Fear”. It is a unique story of two sisters who set off on a car journey and have to face not only their own fear of the future, but also understand each other. The story is full of emotions and tears, and the finale resolves the story of one of them.

The film “Fear” arouses emotions, many viewers want to see it, but what kind of reactions has the actress encountered so far? Marta Nieradkiewicz talks about the road movie, the journey of two sisters and the voices of viewers who have already seen the production.

“It is not an easy film. (…) It is a very personal reception, many people identify with this story,” the actress said in an interview.

Although it may seem that the main point of the story is the seriously ill sister, an equally important role is played by Łucja – the younger sister, who is rebellious not only against life in general, but also against the decisions made by her sister. How did Marta Nieradkiewicz find herself in the role of a companion of a seriously ill person?

“Łucja is a kind of rebel, she wants to go her own way. (…) Łucja does everything to dissuade her sister from her decision.”

At a festival focusing on independent cinema, there were of course questions about such cinema. Does Marta Nieradkiewicz like such films and what titles have impressed her in recent months?

“I like arthouse, I like crossing barriers, searching for a new language in cinema. (…) This is a very important space for me,” said Marta Nieradkiewicz.

The actress also shared the productions that surprised her at the ongoing Mastercard OFF Camera festival

“I was very surprised by the film 'Business Zone' (…), because this story has never been told from this perspective. (…) Recently, I also really liked the Mexican film 'Totem'.
