Marvel's new release schedule. Three movies and two series a year

“We will change the tone a bit and focus on two TV series a year instead of four and reduce the number of cinema premieres from four to two, or at most three,” said Iger during a meeting with the company's management on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

According to him, “Marvel will release two good films in 2025, and then we will focus on the next ones 'Avengers'which we are very excited about.”

The plans presented by Iger do not match Disney's current premiere calendar. According to him, four films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be released in cinemas in 2025: “Captain America: Brave New World”, “Thunderbolts”, “Fantastic Four”, and “Blade”. The fifth part of “Avengers” and three unspecified productions are announced for 2026.

Three series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are also waiting for their debut: “Agatha” (spin-off of “WandaVision”), “Daredevil: Born Again” and “Ironheart”.

Marvel Studios, which once produced hit after hit, has been going through a bad time in recent months. All due to unsatisfactory financial results and reviews of their recent premieres, among others “Eternals”, “Thor: Love and Thunder”, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania” and “Marvels”. The studio's latest series were also met with lukewarm reception: “Patron She-Hulk”, “Secret Invasion” and “Echo”.

One movie based on Marvel comics that will hit theaters in 2024 is “Deadpool & Wolverine”. The production will premiere on July 24, 2024.
