She graduated from the Acting Department of the Theater Academy in Warsaw. Martyna Byczkowska made her film debut in the niche project “Man proposes, God disposes” directed by Daniel Leo. The following years brought participation in short productions: “Ding Dong” by Maciej Stuhr and “Don’t change the subject” by Hubert Patynowski. The breakthrough moment was the drama “Awake Up” (2022) by Filip Dzierżawski, awarded at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia.
However, it was the series that brought her the greatest fame. She played Hania Mazur in “Skazana” and Lena Gradziuk in “Mental”. Later, she also appeared in “Into the Woods” and “Absolute Rookies”. It was after these projects that she got involved in the breakthrough Netflix hit, which is still talked about all over Poland. “1670” tells the story of a nobleman who wants to be the most famous John Paul in the world. The series satirically presents Polish history and culture from that period. Martyna Byczkowska played the role of the main character’s daughter – Aniela.
“1670” made the actress’ name famous throughout Poland, but she tries to keep her feet firmly on the ground. “I feel more popular thanks to the series ‘1670’. But I know that in a moment there will be another Martyna in my place. You can’t believe that you will always stay at the top. This is why the careers of great stars collapsed,” she said in an interview with “Elle”.
Her next projects are again film productions. She starred in “Necessary Things”, “Enemy”, “Intersection”, “North and South”. She met Filip Zaręba, with whom she played in the second season of “1670”, on the set of the film “Larp. Love, trolls and other quests”. An interesting fact is that it is a film by the creator of the Netflix hit series! This year, the superproduction “Chopin, Chopin!” also debuted in cinemas, in which Eryk Kulm played the main role. Martyna Byczkowska portrayed Maria Wodzińska there.
In parallel with film challenges, the 30-year-old developed her talent on the stage of the Dramatic Theater in Warsaw. Although her stay there was short, she managed to appear in successful performances, such as “View from the Bridge” directed by Agnieszka Glińska or “Children of Priests” by Daria Kopiec. Soon, the artist will also make her debut as a director. She made “Le Petite mort” with her friend Kaja Zalewska.
“Already in primary school, I was drawn to various artistic events, and not only as a participant. I wanted to express myself through creativity, I grabbed the camera and this way I talked to my parents and told them what was happening to me. From my current perspective, I see that it was my way of communicating with the world, not just fun. (…) It is a natural element of my person, something I cannot imagine life without,” she said in an interview with “K MAG”.
It has been known for some time that Martyna Byczkowska is currently dating one of the most famous musicians in Poland. Kuba Grabowski, who goes by the pseudonym Quebonafide, is a rapper, songwriter and entrepreneur. He pursues his solo career, but is also known for his duets with Fuso and Taco Hemingway. The 34-year-old not only created many hits, but also became famous for his original appearance and controversial marketing moves.
In one of his recent interviews, Kuba mentioned his current partner. It turns out that he is already making serious plans for the future. When the rapper was asked how he imagined his old age, he said that he wanted his retirement to be peaceful.
“I definitely see babies, Martyna and I have a beautiful new dog and I think she will be my wife, that’s my feeling. And we will build something nice with her,” he confessed.
