The “Meritorious Gloria Artis culture” medal is awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to people or institutions standing out in artistic creativity, cultural activity or protection of culture and national heritage.
The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the American Guild of Directors during the 20th Polish Film Festival in New York. 82-year-old Scorsese He received the medal from the hands of Bogdan Klich, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington.
