Mariah Careythe undisputed Queen of Christmas, has warmed up the Internet with her sense of humor. On October 28, the artist published a funny video on social media in which she firmly reminds fans that the Christmas season has not started yet.
The video shows Carey at various moments of the day when someone from the off side tries to provoke her into saying the iconic “It’s time!” (It’s time!) – a signal that the Christmas rush is starting. Instead, the singer laughs and replies: “I said not yet!” and “It’s not time yet!”. At the end, while preparing for the performance, he hums with a smile: “Not yet.”

They still remember Soyka. This is what the artist’s grave at Powązki looks like two months after his death
This is a subtle reference to the tradition that Carey has created – every year her famous hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” returns to the top of the charts, and a wave of memes about the singer “unfreezing” herself for the holidays spreads around the Internet.
A tribute from young stars and a memory of Mariah Carey’s triumph
Before Carey shared her video, the KATSEYE team paid her an unusual tribute. In the new music video “Gabriela”, featuring comedian Bowen Yang, the group’s members play various incarnations of Mariah – from the music video “Honey”, through “We Belong Together”, to the immortal “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
The idea was born after their famous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2025, where, in an interview with Billboard journalist Kyle Denis, the girls admitted that they could not name Carey’s favorite music video. In response, they created an entire visual parody – full of pastiche, but also appreciation for the pop icon.
During this year’s VMAs, Mariah Carey herself received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – a prestigious distinction for her entire music career. The award was presented to her by Ariana Grande, who said from the stage:
“Mariah has always been a model of artistic courage and vocal perfection.”
Carey returned the favor to the crowd with a powerful medley of her hits, combining classics like “We Belong Together” with newer song “Sugar Sweet.”
New album and countdown to Christmas
The triumphant performance coincided with the release of her sixteenth album, “Here for It All”, which was released a few weeks later. The album, containing the singles “Sugar Sweet” and “Type Dangerous”, debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Top Album Sales chart.
Although Carey reassures that “it’s not time yet”, fans know for sure. December is getting closer every day, and soon her immortal “All I Want for Christmas Is You” will be heard on the radio again.
