Łukasz Baka was born in a well -known film family. His parents are actors Mirosław Baka and Joanna Kreft-Baka. So it can be said that with such artistic genes he was somewhat sentenced to work in a film. However, he wanted to do it on his own terms. While most thought he would become an actor, he preferred to delve into the process of creating a film work from the other side of the camera, becoming an operator. It is true that he tried to act in acting, even in “amok”, but it is as an operator, stage designer and colorist who has much more experience and achievements.
His workshop is so valued that he is already sharing his knowledge as a lecturer at the University of Silesia, although he is only 37 years old. In 2017, Baka obtained a doctoral degree for the trial about the reinterpretation of space in stereoscopic films. As if that was not enough, he tasted the splendor of Hollywood. He worked on the director’s debut of one of the most recognizable actresses in American cinema.
Łukasz Baki’s work can be observed in such productions as “feedback”, “glitter”, “coal fur” or “Julius”. These are just some of the newer works he co -created. However, it got loud in 2015. It was then that he collaborated with one of the greatest Hollywood stars.
Natalie Portman hired him to work with her director’s debut. Baka was responsible for the color correction of the Portman movie called “Tale of Love and Darkness.” Interestingly, he was not the only Pole who worked at this work. Sławomir Idziak was responsible for production photos.
