London My Way: A Walk Through the City and History, Maciej Woroch

“London My Way” is a story from behind the scenes of the biggest and most important events in the history of the last decades of the United Kingdom, observed from a unique, close perspective of a reporter. The author describes curiosities from the world of contemporary politics, culture and the life of the royal family.

Like a seasoned guide, he leads through the more and lesser-known corners of the British capital. He tells about Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and Greenwich. Discovering the history of the lost Chopin monument along the way, he sets off on a walk through royal London and the history of the city on the Thames. Following the film trail, he shows places that, thanks to cinematography, have forever etched themselves in the memory of viewers: the blue door from Notting Hill, Bridget Jones’s apartment or the passage to platform 9 and 3/4, from where Harry Potter departed for Hogwarts.

The book is full of funny anecdotes, unknown stories and colourful descriptions of events. You can also find practical advice on how to get around the city and save on public transport, how to find cheaper accommodation, where to eat and how to organise a weekend trip. Hunters of spectacular photos will appreciate the tips on proven spots for a good photo with the symbols of the city such as Big Ben or the London Eye.

This gripping story contains everything you need to know about London.
