Łódź Summer Festival is a three-day free festival organized on the occasion of Łódź's birthday. The stages are located in several locations in the city.
The first edition was organized in 2023 as part of the celebration of the city's 600th anniversary. The event gathered as many as one million participants.
This year's edition will take place on July 26-28. “For three days, the city center will turn into a festival town. Performances by Polish and foreign stars are planned on the main stage. Mark your calendars and get ready for a unique summer in the city,” announce the organizers.
The first headliner of the event was a British band Placebo. “Łódź, you impressed me now,” fans comment.
The Placebo band was formed in 1994 in London. Initially, the group was founded by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal operated under the name Ashtray Heart. The world heard about them when David Bowie he took them on tour as support.
The band released their eighth studio album on March 25, 2022 – “Never Let Me Go”. This album is the first in over eight years, after “Loud Like Love” from 2013.
