Weaver’s family announced his death. “He marked every role and action with joy, depth and (good) representation of African Americans,” we read in a short statement. The actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles.
Weaver was born on April 10, 1930 in Florida. At the age of 22, he enlisted in the army. He made his screen debut in the 1950s, but acting became his main occupation only a decade later.
On the big screen we could see him in small roles in “Vanishing Point”, “Heaven Can Wait”, “Godzilla”“Donnie Darko” i “40 Year Old Virgin”. The most memorable creation was created by w “Brother, where are you?” Coen brothers. He played the role of a blind man who gives the heroes some comments about their future.
Weaver was also known for his television roles. In “The Bill Cosby Show” he played the title character’s brother. He was the voice of Alpine in the animated series “GI Joe”. Additionally, he had recurring roles on “NYPD Blue,” “My Name is Earl” and “Grace & Frankie.”
Weaver limited his appearances after 2013. The last time we could see him on screen was in 2022.
