The film is being shot “LARP”which is the director's feature debut series “1670”, Kordian Kądziela. It is supposed to be a funny and intelligent film aimed at teenagers, talking about “maturation, first love, becoming independent from family and getting to know your inner strength.”
“Our film is aimed at teenagers – an age group that, in our opinion, has been largely neglected in terms of the richness of the film offer addressed specifically to them. I have the impression that for several years we have been dealing with a kind of gap in this area – especially in domestic cinema. While While dozens of successful Polish films for children and even more high-quality films for adults have been recently created, there is still no good domestic cinema aimed at teenagers,” says Kordian Kądziela.
“In 'LARP' we touch on topics important to contemporary youth – difficulties in communicating with peers, being an outsider in a group, searching for one's own identity, trying to find a common language with parents, life in a broken family, and finally sexual initiation. We have tried to cover all important and difficult topics. be contained in a form that is as attractive to young viewers as possible,” he adds.
They are working on a film Kordian Kądziela and Michał Wawrzecki. The main roles will be played by: a debutant Filip Zaręba, Martyna Byczkowska and Maciej Bisiorek, Agnieszka Rajda, Mikołaj Chilimończyk, Andrzej Konopka, Michał BalickiHubert Łapacz, Filip Łannik, Magdalena Góźdź, Bartłomiej Topa and Edyta Olszówka.
“Our main character Sergiusz's passion is outdoor games in the fantasy world, i.e. LARPs, which have been gaining popularity for many years. LARPs can take place in a wide variety of spaces, conventions and worlds. The only limitation is the players' imagination. In our film we focus on large LARPs. “played in a forest based on a fantasy world, during which dozens of players – in costumes they have prepared – play characters trying to achieve their goals in the scenery prepared by the game organizers,” explains the director.
The film is about a high school student who is bullied at school and at home because of his strange hobby of playing Elf in LARP games. In the LARP world, 17-year-old Sergiusz is manly, brave and admired. The situation is different in the family and among peers, where he is treated like a loser. One day, a new student appears at his school – beautiful Helena. Unfortunately, the girl begins to make friends with a group of popular students. One day, Sergiusz discovers that Helena is also a “nerd” and takes part in LARPing in disguise. During one of the games, they become closer to each other, but Helena wants it to remain a secret.
