One of the most anticipated Max productions is fast approaching. “Lady Love”, a series on a topic never seen before in Poland, will debut on Friday, December 20! Subsequent episodes will be uploaded to the website every week.
“Lady Love”, a social story with a crime thread, is the first production from the beginning under the Max Original brand. It will be a unique premiere that will take website users to the world of the adult industry, full of temptations and threats. And also the colorful world of the 1980s in Germany and the 1990s in Poland, which was coming to life.
The script of “Lady Love”, inspired by true stories, tells the story of Lucyna Liss, a young girl from a small town in the Polish People’s Republic who, dreaming of freedom and life on her own terms, fled abroad. In Germany – the European dream factory of the 1980s – she appeared on the covers of adult magazines and quickly became a film star known under the pseudonym “Lucy Love”. But persistence, determination and ambition changed the course of her fate. She quickly went from being a magazine model and film actress to an uncompromising businesswoman and an icon of German pop culture in the 1980s. Lucyna’s special talent for business and sense of the audience’s needs helped her make a revolution in the industry. In the most masculine world, she introduced new rules of the game. She began producing films in which she reversed male domination, putting women in the center of the action.
But “Lady Love” is not only the story of a businesswoman, it is also a picture of a woman looking for love, who had to make difficult life choices to get to the top, and the highest price for this success was paid by her loved ones. The ones she loved the most.
As the titular Lady Love, viewers will see Anna Szymańczyk, making her debut in the main series role. Next to her will be the star of many foreign productions, German actor Clemens Schick, whom Polish cinema fans may recognize from one of the James Bond adventures, “Casino Royale”. “Lady Love” will also feature Lise Risom Olsen – known from the Scandinavian film “The Bastard”, winner of many awards, and theater actor Tobias Lange. And also one of the most characteristic vocalists of the young generation – Ralph Kaminski! They will be accompanied on screen by, among others: Dorota Pomykała, Adam Woronowicz, Borys Szyc, Julian Świeżewski, Piotr Trojan, Michał Żurawski, Anna Krotoska, Stanisław Linowski, Julia Polaczek, Maciej Radel, Jacek Król and Ewelina Żak.
The series “Lady Love” is being prepared for the Max platform by the TVN Warner Bros. Feature Department. Discovery. The originators of the series are Mikołaj Wit and Dariusz Gowała from Bongo Media. The script inspired by true stories was written by Ewa Popiołek, who also serves as the formatting scriptwriter, and Dorota Jankojć-Poddębniak. The project is directed by Bartosz Konopka, and Jacek Podgórski is responsible for the cinematography. The producers are Adrianna Przetacka (TVN WBD) and Dariusz Gowała and Mikołaj Wit (Bongo Media).
