“La Promesa – the palace of secrets” is a Spanish costume series broadcast in Poland on TVP2. The series takes place at the beginning of the 20th century – in 1913 – and focuses on the fate of a young woman named Jana. A woman determined to find out the truth about the fate of her brother and mother takes a job as a maid in a residence called La Promesa – the seat of the aristocratic but decaying Lujan family. The plot of the series is full of intrigues, secrets, family conflicts and romances, which are followed by a large group of TV viewers.
Jimena finally gives up on going to Madrid with her mother — stays in the palace. Meanwhile, Mauro admits to Pia that he is worried about the health of their superior, Rómulo. Pia begins to observe the man closely.
Rómulo tries persuade the Marquis to rehire Lope as a cook. However, the marquis is afraid of conflict with his wife. He doesn’t want to question her decision.
At the same time, Catalina and her partner Pelayo present a plan to expand the sales of homemade jams to the Marquis and the rest. They discuss business strategy and profit sharing. They try to convince you that this is a chance improving finances and ensuring stability.
Manuel refuses his mother when she tries to convince him to save the marriage. The man does not want to return to the previous arrangement. Instead, he meets secretly with Jana. However, the girl cannot forget about the fate of Jimen and Abel – she feels that her feelings for Manuel may make them unhappy.
Pelayo reveals to his wife, Catalina, a secret about their butler, Jeronimo. Meanwhile, there is tension among the servants. Curro offers to help Catalina with her accounts, but the Marquis and Marquise flatly reject his offer.
Concern is also growing Pia for Rómulo’s health. When she asks him about his well-being, the man assures him that there is nothing wrong with him.
Cruz persists and continues tries to reconcile Manuel with his wife. She encourages him to take Jimena on their overdue honeymoon. Alonso Luján discusses with Cruz the division of profits from the venture run by his daughter Catalina and Don Pelayo. The marquise’s demands turn out to be excessive, leading to a tense situation.
Meanwhile, the servants are preparing for a farewell ceremony for Lope. Mr. Baeza proposes that before leaving the estate, everyone: the aristocracy and servants, sit down to one last meal prepared by Lope. The young butler Feliciano gives his beloved Teresa earrings. It turns out it’s an engagement gift.
At the same time, the conflict between Cruz and her sister-in-law is growing. The reason for another quarrel is Lope’s departure. The Marquise is angry with Margarita for that she found him a better job in Madrid.
Curro secretly works on crop accounting and analysis. Meanwhile, Jimena she can no longer ignore her husband’s distance that is incomprehensible to her. With a heavy heart, he complains to his mother-in-law.
Alonso suspects that Rómulo’s butler is hiding serious health problems. He doesn’t trust appearances and he begins to look at Rómulo with growing concern.
The culmination of the episode is a farewell dinner – prepared for the chef Lope, who is about to leave for Madrid. During the meal, the servants recall his first days in the palace. Rómulo raises a touching toast.
In episode 286, Margarita warns Catalina that marrying Pelayo is the beginning of radical changes in her life, which makes my daughter anxious.
Jana and Manuel secretly meet in the hangar, away from eyes and suspicions. Meanwhile, Jimena wants to discover the reason for her husband’s reluctance. Mauro asks about him. The woman also tries to get closer to Manuel, but he rejects her efforts.
Pelayo makes important decisions. He instructs his butler Jerónimo, how to behave towards household members and servants.
The Spanish series “La Promesa – the palace of secrets” is broadcast on the TVP2 channel from Monday to Friday at 15:05. You can watch episodes 282-286 on the following days:
