In recent months, there have been more and more cases of theft of images of famous people on the Internet, whose faces and names are used in illegal advertising campaigns. Fraudsters use artificial intelligence technology to create realistic graphics and videos in which celebrities “recommend” products promoted as supporting weight loss.
This time the victim was Krzysztof Skiba, a singer and satirist known from the band Big Cyc. In one of such graphics, you could see his face “glued” to the silhouette of a muscular man. The advertisement promised quick weight loss results after using the alleged preparation.

“This is a classic use of the image of a popular person without his or her consent. A product advertised in such a false way must be complete (…), and using a stolen image only serves to make money. I warn you against fraudsters. I do not and have never advertised any slimming products,” wrote the musician on his social media profile.
A growing wave of online abuse
This is not an isolated case. In recent months, victims of similar frauds include, among others: Martyna Wojciechowska, Katarzyna Skrzynecka, Daria Ładocha and Anna Mucha, who also appealed for vigilance. The common denominator of such campaigns is the lack of consent of those interested and the use of artificial intelligence to manipulate images.
Internet security experts warn that the images generated are becoming more realistic, making them harder to detect. As a result, many people fall for false promises of quick weight loss.
Krzysztof Skiba with distance, but also with a warning
Although the situation was serious, Skiba maintained his characteristic distance and sense of humor. He ironically referred to the absurdity of the whole situation, proposing his own solutions:
“Only the original Skiba can cure you, but not from obesity, but from a bad mood. I invite you to my comedy performances. Be careful when buying on the Internet and believing in wonderful advertisements of strange remedies,” added the musician.
There were plenty of joking comments under his post from fans who noticed that the “slimmed down” AI version of Skiba looked “at least 30 years younger.”
A call for caution on the Internet
The case of Krzysztof Skiba shows how easy it is to manipulate the image of a public person today. It is also a warning to Internet users – not to trust advertisements that promise quick results, especially when famous names appear in them.
As the musician himself notes, real changes in appearance require time and consistency. Skiba has indeed undergone a significant transformation since he gave up meat and processed food, but – as he emphasizes – he owes it not to any miracle products, but to a change in lifestyle.
