The “sunrise on the Harvest Festival” action takes place 24 years before the events of the first “Death Games”. The main character is teenage Haymitch, in the future Mentor Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellarka (Josh Hutcherson). Due to the jubilee of the 50th Games, each districts must issue as many as four tributes. Among the 48 competitors is Haymitch. He decides to return to his family and his beloved in District 12 at all costs.

The film adaptation of the next novel by Suzanne Collins is to debut on November 20, 2026. Francis Lawrence, who directed the previous parts of the series, will stand behind the camera again. The script for production will be written by Billy Ray, and the producers will be Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson from Color Force. The executive producer will be Cameron MacConomy.
