Kayah is an undisputed icon of the Polish stage, who began her career nearly four decades ago. She launched hits such as: “Right to Left”, “Testosterone” and “Sleep, baby, sleep”and entire generations of Poles were raised on her music. Kayah and Rinke Rooyens met while recording the show “It was played”. There was an immediate spark between them on the set, and after a few months the couple decided to get married. The ceremony took place on August 5, 1998. At the end of the same year – on December 1 – their son was born, Roch.
In 1999, the lovers received an award granted in a plebiscite by the readers of the monthly “Pani” – the Silver Jabłko. The distinction went to those who were considered “the greatest Polish couple”.
