Let us recall that in 2011 Maciej Myszkowskihusband Justyna Steczkowskahe received a dramatic diagnosis – prostate cancer. The singer suspended her career for some time to be with him in the most difficult moments. After winning the fight against the disease, Maciej became involved in activities promoting health prevention. In the podcast “My style“The artist also spoke with tears in her eyes about the second period, which was not easy for her – she referred to her mother’s illness.
Justyna Steczkowska about her mother and husband. “If you want to support another person, you do everything”
“There were two such moments. My husband’s illness, because it affects not only the person, but also the whole house. To support another person, you do everything. (…) It is always a difficult path, because it happens and you know that it depends on many activities. Everyone tries, but it is always filled with fear that it may not work,” Justyna Steczkowska confessed to Magda Mołek.
“The second one is taking care of my mother. (…) If someone takes care of an elderly person, they understand that care is physical work and related to the psyche. If it is your parent, it is doubly difficult because you see how you have no influence on how old age comes to you so suddenly and suddenly takes your mother away from you at such a terribly fast pace that you are unable to stop it,” said the singer, holding back tears.
“It was hard for me to physically take care of my mother, play concerts, and still have a house to look after. (…) We had some help during the day. This help couldn’t do it alone, we had to do it together – turn over, wash the body, do all such physiological activities for each other. It’s just difficult,” added Justyna Steczkowska. “In such powerlessness, I asked myself the question (…) are you doing it out of love or out of duty? Because if it is out of duty, you will only be frustrated. Then I sat down in front of myself and felt that I was really doing it out of love. (…) All the stress and pain melted away, that it was not my duty. (…) It was difficult, but it became beautiful somewhere,” the star explained.
