Josh Brolin recalls his beginnings in Hollywood. It was rejected 350 times!

57-year-old Josh Brolin has built an impressive career – he is currently one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. We watched his performances, among others: in “Sicario”, “The Disappearances”, “No Country for Old Men”, “Deadpool 2”, “Avenger: Infinity War” and “Oldboy. Revenge is Patient”.

The actor, together with Glen Powell and Lee Pace, was recently a guest on “Entertainment Tonight”, where he promoted the latest film. At some point, the topic of the beginning of his career was raised. Josh Brolin had a lot to say.

“I didn’t grow up in Los Angeles around my father. (…) I didn’t know what it was all about,” Brolin confessed.

The 57-year-old star is the son of the legendary actor James Brolin, whom we watched, among others, in “Hotel”, “The Amityville Horror”, “The Wild West” and “Marcus Welby, M.D.” Josh Brolin didn’t grow up with a father, so he didn’t know how to deal with film sets or castings. In his youth, he tried to get his first job, but it didn’t go very well. At the age of 16, he was rejected 350 times!

“350 auditions before I got the role in Goonies,” he revealed. “Oh, yes. You went to the audition, then you rushed to the office, then to another audition, and you saw the same people in the hallway.”

Josh Brolin played Brandon Walsh in the movie “The Goonies”. He starred alongside Sean Austin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen and Ke Hyu Quan. The 1984 adventure film told the story of a group of kids who, after finding a map, search for the hidden treasure of a legendary pirate.

The breakthrough in his career was his role in the production of “No Country for Old Men”, an adaptation of the book by Cormack McCarthy, directed by the Coen brothers. The film won four Oscars, including best picture of the year, and Brolin suddenly found himself at the forefront of Hollywood. Just a year later, he received his first Oscar nomination for his role in Citizen Milk.
