The basis for the script is released in 2023 Warren Zane’s book “Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska”which details the artist’s musical journey during creation. “Nebraska” was created in the artist’s bedroom, because it was initially intended to be used as a demo for an album recorded with the E-Street Band. Ultimately, however, it was decided to release it as a solo album, which was a good move – in 2003, the album was ranked 224th on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 albums of all time.
Bruce Springsteen himself will also work on the filmwhich fills the other creators with great joy. Disney Live Action and 20th Century Fox president David Greenbaum said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the honor of working with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many.”
The person responsible for directing and scripting is Scott Cooper (“Pact with the Devil”, “Endosperm”). The filming of “Deliver Me From Nowhere” is mainly located in New Jersey (Springsteen’s hometown) and New York. Why did the producers choose the “Nebraska” album? In the press release we can read that the creation of this album was a key moment in Springsteen’s life, but he was only able to openly talk about it years later. It was a turning point not only for him, but also for an entire generation of artists.
The film’s cast includes Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Paul Walter Hauser as guitar technician Mike Batlan and Odessa Young as Faye. Viewers will see him in the role of the iconic musician Jeremy Allen White known to the audience primarily from the series “The Bear”.
New photos from the film set in New Jersey have appeared online. The actor walked around the city in a leather jacket and a red checkered shirt.
