Buzzfeed asked 21-year-old actress Jenna Ortega, what role could surprise people, which they would have no idea about. The star admitted that it could be an engagement in Denis Villeneuve’s latest productions from the “Dune” universe. She has a feeling that a few years ago she took part in a secret audition for one of the important roles in the series.
“I think I auditioned for (…) when I was about 15. I remember being a huge fan of that movie and that series and everything about it, and I was really excited about this interview because Denis is one of my favorite filmmakers,” she told Buzzfeed.
Ortega also admitted that she believes that she read the role of Chani, the beloved of the main character of “Dune”. Today we know that this engagement went to another world star – Zendaya. The actress has proven herself excellently in two parts of the saga so far. The actress was supposed to be cast in January 2019, which means that Villeneuve probably met with the actors, perhaps also Ortega, in the previous months.
Ortega is currently making the rounds in the press to promote his new movie “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, which will hit theaters on September 6. In Tim Burton’s sequel to his 1988 comedy, Ortega plays Astrid, the daughter of Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder). The sequel marks the reunion of Ortega and Burton, who previously worked together on the hit Netflix series Wednesday.
