Janusz Nowatorski is dead. Legendary jazz musician, clarinetist, soprano, alto and tenor saxophonist, as well as arranger. During his over forty-year career, he has performed many times as an instrumentalist, leader, arranger and member of many bands.
He was associated with Krakow, where he was born. He has performed in numerous jazz formations as their creator, co-creator or member, including: Playing Family, Tropicale Taiti Granda Banda, Swing Orchestra Cracow and Boba Jazz Band.
“Dad died this morning,” Leszek Nowatorski wrote on Friday, February 23 on social media. The jazz star performed for years on the stages of Klub pod Jaszczurami, which also said goodbye to the artist on social media.
“Again, sad news. Janusz Nowotarski, saxophonist, clarinetist and arranger, has died. We remember him from his performances on the Lizard stage with such bands as: Playing Family, Tropicale Taiti Granda Banda, Swing Orchestra Cracow and Boba Jazz Band. RIP,” we read.
