The first part directed by Louis Leterrier “Illusion” it was about a group of illusionists who, thanks to their skills, were able to commit daring thefts. The main roles in the film were played by: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco. Their partners included, among others: Mark Ruffalo, Mélanie Laurent, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.
The success of the film resulted in the second part being made in 2016, in which almost all the stars of the previous production returned. This time, Jon M. Chu was behind the camera.
The implementation of “three” was considered, but these plans did not come to fruition.
Now this is about to change, and Eisenberg, Harrelson, Fisher, Franco and Freeman will most likely return in the main roles.
Details of the plot are kept secret, but the new part, which will be directed this time by Ruben Fleischer (“Venom”, “Uncharted”), will once again delve into the world of illusionists and the insidious quartet known as the Four Horsemen. Moreover, it will also introduce viewers to a new generation of illusionists.
It is very possible that Justice Smith and Dominic Sessa, who have just joined the cast of the series, will be part of it.
We last saw Smith in the action comedy “Dungeons & Dragons: A Thief's Honor” and in the thriller “Deception.” In turn, Sessa was the star of this year's Oscar hit “Winter Solstice.” Angus's portrayal provided him with, among other things, a BAFTA nomination and a Critics' Choice statuette in the “best young actor” category.
