Harlan Coben is one of the most popular crime writers in the world. Several years have passed since Harlan Coben signed a contract with Netflix to produce series based on his novels, and we saw the English “Safe” with Michael C. Hall (the series' Dexter) on the screen. “The Stranger” with Hannah John-Camen (“Killjoys”) or “Stay with Me” with Cush Jumbo (“The Perfect Case”). There was also the French “Without Goodbye” and the Spanish “Innocent”, and at the beginning of 2024 “The Innocent” premiered on the platformYou Can't Fool Me Anymore”, which a few days after its premiere was hailed as one of the best adaptations of the writer's novel.
One of Richard Armitage became the unofficial face of the series based on Harlan Coben's books (the “Hobbit” trilogy, the last great crime story “Red Eye”). So far, he has appeared in three Netflix productions – “The Stranger”, “Stay with me” and “You Can't Fool Me Anymore”. As it turns out, the actor will also star in the series “Miss You”, an adaptation of Coben's very well-received 2014 novel.
The plot revolves around the fate of detective Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar), who accidentally meets her ex-fiance on a dating application. There would be nothing strange about it, if not for the fact that the man disappeared without a trace 10 years ago. The attempt to discover the truth will bring back painful events from Kara's past.
In the latest interview with Digital Spy, Richard Armitage revealed a bit details about the series and provided a possible premiere date.
“Gram superintendent of police, and my friend with whom I appeared in 'Uncle Vanya', Rosalind Eleazar, plays the main character. She is fantastic, really fantastic (…) This time the series is a shorter format – there are only five episodes, because it is a unified narrative, without complicated side plots,” concludes the actor.
In the interview, Armitage also talked about why he likes crime stories so much.
“It's my kind. As a writer, I love intrigue. I like an unexpected and great twist.”
