Holiday Movie Guide 2024: Home Alone and Other Classics. What to watch on Christmas Eve, December 24?

This year’s program offer will satisfy the tastes of the entire family: from the youngest, through lovers of emotion and Christmas nostalgia, to those who appreciate film classics. On December 24, from dawn until late at night, we will have a lot of television experiences. What’s on offer?

Let’s start the day gently, with a cup of coffee and a bit of emotion. Polsat at 8:00 invites you to “Christmas Letter”, a moving story about the power of kindness, in which eight-year-old Henry brings joy to the life of a lonely old lady. Immediately afterwards, at 8:40, we will watch “The First Star” – an animated story about the brave dreams of Bo the donkey.

The biblical film “Józef i Maryja” will be broadcast on TVP1 at 8:05. Right after it, at 9:30, it is worth reading “Recipe for a Beautiful Christmas” – a story about a father and daughter who discover the magic of Christmas in their new place of residence. Thrill lovers can also check out “Santa Claus on 34th Street” (10:34, Polsat) – a film about the miracles that Saint Nicholas can perform… if you believe in him.

In the afternoon, animations will take us to various worlds. TVN at 11:20 offers the animated “Jump over the fence”, and at 12:55 the dancing adventures of penguins in “Happy Feet”. At 12:20 on TVP2 we will watch the charming film “Royal Christmas with a Corgi” – about dog love that brings people closer.

The afternoon suggestions are also classics. Lovers of Polish humor can watch “Samimy own” (16:15, TVP2)and for fans of family cinema, we recommend “Profession: Santa Claus” at 2:25 p.m. on Czwórka. At 4:00 p.m. on TV Puls you will find “The Gift of the Night Fury”, an adventurous story about dragons. Later, viewers will be entertained by “The Smurfs”.

Christmas Eve is a moment when we can sit together in front of the TV, because at 8:00 p.m. Polsat traditionally invites you to the beloved movie “Home Alone. The story of an 8-year-old boy bravely defending his house against clumsy burglars is always a perfect choice for a Christmas Eve evening full of laughter and emotions. And best of all – the screening will be preceded by a short Christmas animation “It’s Raining Shrek”.

At 7:30 p.m. TVN will present the first part of the popular series “Letters to M.”, which will easily put viewers into the Christmas spirit.

On TVP2 at 20:05 you can watch “Santa Claus on the Signal”, a special edition of the series about rescuers, featuring Mikołaj Roznerski. Fans of fantasy cinema can immerse themselves in the magical world of Middle-earth with “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” at 8 p.m. on TVN7.

The stations have also prepared something for carol fans! From 1:00 p.m. Polsat invites you to “The Great Carol Sing with Polsat”, and TVP1 will serve us Christmas sounds at 4:00 p.m. as “Christmas Carols under the Tatras” and at 9:20 p.m. as a concert “Our Holidays”. On TVN at 15:05 we will hear “Christmas caroling together”.

In the evening it is worth checking out TVP1 at 6:55 p.m. for the traditional broadcast of the Midnight Mass from the Vatican.
