He has performed with the world’s greatest stars, and soon he will play the character who changed the Polish cinema forever!
We have already known for some time that a film about the legend of Polish cinema, i.e. Zbyszek Cybulski, who presented his talent, among others in “Popiel and Diamond” or “Train”. On January 8, 1967, Zbigniew Cybulski died in dramatic circumstances. At 4:20 he tried to jump on a departing train at the Main Railway Station in Wrocław. The reason for his rush was the attempt to play “The Secret of the Old House” of Pancz Panczew at the Television Theater, which premiered on January 23. Unfortunately, his leg got stuck between the degree and platform. Despite the rapid medical intervention, the actor could not be saved – the death was confirmed at 5:25. He wasn’t even 40 at the time of his death.
From 1969 an award has been awarded Zbyszek Cybulski, which is received by young actors “distinguished by outstanding individuality”. Her originator was film critic Wiesława Czapińska, and the founder was initially the weekly “Screen”. D. as the first prize was received by DAngel Olbrychski.
