“Thank you Warsaw!!!!!!!! WOW!!! What a night it was!! As I said at the end – I was in Poland in 1983 and those were hard times for these wonderful people. I am extremely happy, that everything is blooming everywhere – beautiful buildings, great food, amazing people! Safe and clean – a truly wonderful city in an amazing and historic country. Thank you all!! – he wrote on social media after the concert Billy Sheehanbassist Mr. Big.

This is how the musician recalled his visit to Poland when he was part of a hard rock group UFOs.

The concert at the Progresja club in Warsaw (April 11) was advertised as the first and last performance of Mr. Big in our country. It turned out that due to the great interest of Polish fans, the hard rock quartet would return as part of the summer part of “The Big Finish” farewell tour. The concert will take place on August 6 at the A2 club in Wrocław. Tickets are already on sale.

The band, founded in 1988, has released a total of nine studio albums. The most popular hit was “Lean Into It” (1991). “To Be With You”, which spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard charts. The band enjoyed the greatest recognition in Japan – that's where the first concerts after reactivation took place. The American band is often cited as an example of the phrase “Big in Japan”, i.e. a performer who is exceptionally popular in this country, with much less interest in other parts of the world.

They formed a quartet Eric Martin (vocal), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass) i Pat Torpey (drums). In 1999, he replaced Gilbert Ritchie Kotzenformer musician Poison. Three years later, after internal friction, the musicians decided to discontinue their activities.

In 2009, the band was reactivated with its original line-up. Due to health reasons (Parkinson's disease), he took Torpey's place at concerts Matt Starrworking with a guitarist Ace Frehley With Kiss. The disease seriously hampered his work on his last album, “Defying Gravity” (2017) – he was unable to record all his parts (he worked with a drum machine). The aforementioned Starr took over some of the duties in the studio.

On February 7, 2018, Pat Torpey died at the age of 64, and his colleagues (with the support of friends – appeared, among others, Ritchie Kotzen, Jeff Scott Soto, Matt Sorum known for Guns N' Roses, Gregg Bissonette) paid tribute to him at a special concert in California.
