Jacek Dewódzki He started his musical career in the band Patchwork. To Dżem as the successor of the legendary Ryśka Riedla He hit practically by accident. It turned out that his wife persuaded him to send an application for a competition for a new singer of this Silesian formation (May 1994).
Jacek Dewódzki: Not only jam
“He did not realize himself from the weight of the undertaking. Earlier he was not particularly interested in the team – he only knew a few of the biggest hits. Dozens of unattractive recordings came to the competition. By accident his cassette was questioned as one of the last and the jams saw Polish in it Joe Cocker” – reminds the official website of Dżem in the biography.
A few months after admission to the group, he recorded a new album with her “Several torn plates”which was released in March 1995. It was from this album that hits come from this album “Wildness of my heart” or the most associated later with Dewódzki “Light a candle”. He recorded three studio materials with jam (“Several torn records”, “Under the wind”, “To be or have”) and concert records “Letter to R. for 12 votes” and “Jam at Opera”).
At the beginning of 2001, the Silesian legend decided to part with the singer, replacing him Maciej Balcar. In later years, Jacek Dewódzki still occasionally performs with jam, not only at birthday concerts.
To fully implement his artistic ideas, Jacek Dewódzki founded a group Revolutionin which he combined classic rock with an alternative and grunge. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the band returns to the stage after a few years of silence, announcing a new era of their activities – “full of power, authenticity and passion.”
In the new composition of the leader (he also grabbed the bass guitar) is accompanied by: a longtime guitarist of Revolution Bartosz “Bratek” Wójcik (also cooperating with, among others Perfect Gold, Doogie white With Rainbow and who died in October 2024. Paul Di’annoformer vocalist Iron Maiden), the first guitarist of Revolution Robert Pieculewicz (co -creator of their most recognizable hits, guitar virtuoso and the live legend of the Krakow market) and longtime drummer Revoluniation Krzysztof Żurek (incl. Perfect Gold, Paul Di’anno).
“This is a very important moment for us – we come back not only from sentiment, but out of the need to create. We have energy, we have ideas, we have something to say” – emphasizes Jacek Dewódzki.
The vocalist announces not only a return to intensive concert activities (nearest open air – June 1, the birthday of the Maki hall in Krakow, June 15, II Kokotowa Days), but also the enigmatic opening of “a new chapter in Polish rock”.
