Majka Jeżowska This is currently one of the most recognizable Polish singers, composers and directions. For years, it has been very popular, both among children and adult listeners. Her adventure with music began in her youth. The artist graduated from the Music Academy Karol Szymanowski in Katowice under the direction Krystyna Prońko.
Majka Jeżowska debuted at the age of 18. She immediately conquered the most important festivals in Poland
Her career gained momentum in 1978 – the 18 -year -old singer won the award at Soviet Song Festival in Zielona Góra. It was then that viewers and critics noticed her unique energy and talent. A year later Jeżowska was awarded with a special prize at KFPP in Opole for the song “Note in a note”. Czesław Niemen himself sat in the jury.
In 1980 she received third place in the “Premier” competition, during the next KFPP in Opole, for the song “Reggae about the first inventors”. Interestingly, Majka also submitted another of her songs for the competition – already iconic “I have a good mood from the morning”. The festival director then recognized the composition as extremely matching the event’s envelope and appointed the melody the leitmotif of the event.
In 1981, the debut album of Majka Jeżowska, entitled “I’m going into the world”. On the album he found, among others hit “The most beautiful in the classroom”which to this day is considered one of the artist’s most popular in the achievements. In the same year, the young star decided to go to the United States. Abroad she fulfilled the role of the band’s singer Heat n serve.
In 1983 she recorded a song “Rats on a budget”to which the clip has been appreciated at the International Festival of Low-budget music videos in Saint-Tropez. “Not everyone knows that I am the first Polish singer broadcast in the American MTV,” she once revealed. She returned to Poland permanently after 12 years.

Majka Jeżowska developed her vocal career in two ways from the beginning. She made her debut as a pop singer, but a few years later she decided to take care of family music. As she claims, her son inspired her Wojciechwho was only a few years old at the time. It was for him a song “And I prefer my mother”whose author was the author of the words Agnieszka Osieckaand the melody was composed by Jeżowska herself.
“Children deserve the highest quality culture. They cannot be treated as second -class listeners. What they listen to in childhood, then will result in their musical taste” – argued the singer.
In the 1980s, the artist fully focused on children’s work. She collaborated with Jacek Cyganwith whom she promoted many children’s stars together, including Krzysztof Antkowiak Whether Anna Jurksztowicz.
Majka Jeżowska has released several studio albums for the next summer. For her activities for the youngest, she was awarded the Order of the Smile, i.e. an international award for bringing children joy. She is also the ambassador of good will UNICEF and the Polish American Youth organization in Chicago.
Although he creates songs for children, adults also play with them. Jeżowska’s performance on Pol’and’Rock was a great hit!
“Adults with children are playing at my concerts. So this is not a children’s audience, these are songs written very seriously, about serious matters such as ecology, respect for animals and friendship. There is no aggression there, no hatred. These are songs that accompany the child and parents while traveling on holidays either during Christmas or on the way to school ” – she said in one of the interviews.
In 2019, Majka Jeżowska proved that her music connects generations and is not intended exclusively for the youngest recipients. She played at the festival then Pol’and’rockon which teams representing such species as Rock, Punk Rock, Folk, Heavy Metal and Blues Rock are usually hosted. “Jurek Owsiak said: ‘You know what, Majka, I did not think to ever invite you to this festival, but this is such a crazy idea that it could be great.’ And I feel that it will be great, “said the singer just before her concert.
A real madness broke out on the small stage. Although the artist, associated with cheerful creativity for children, competed with metalists with Decapitatedappearing at the same time on the large stage, she managed to attract a huge crowd of people. Many participants of the event still remember this concert as a historical event.
