“Harry Potter”: who will play Voldemort in the new HBO series? There is already an idea

The new Harry Potter series arouses many emotions. The first information about the project appeared last spring. It is to be a faithful adaptation of the saga created by JK Rowling, beloved by readers all over the world. She was involved in the production writer and showrunner Francesca Gardinerwho in earlier years worked on such works as “The Transporter”, “Medici: Lords of Florence” and “His Dark Materials”. The woman also acted as a consultant on the award-winning series “Succession”. Mark Mylod will be behind the camera for several episodeswho was responsible for directing, among others, a few episodes of “Game of Thrones”, the aforementioned “Succession” or the movie “Menu”.

The series will debut under the HBO banner, and not as a work of the Max platform. Thanks to this, the creators will be able to allocate a larger budget for the production, and thus achieve even greater spectacular effect. The production, set in a magical world, is scheduled to debut in 2026.

Ralph Fienneswho played Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film saga, shared his observations on who should play the villain in the HBO series. In a recent interview, the actor admitted that in his opinion this star would be a perfect fit for the new adaptation. The choice fell on Cillian Murphy.

“Cillian is a fantastic actor,” Fiennes admitted during an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” moments after viewers suggested the “Oppenheimer” star.

This is a great suggestion. I would totally support Cillian. Yes.”

Fiennes first played Voldemort in 2005’s “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” the fourth installment in the film saga. The actor appeared in the films “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (2007), “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (2009) and in the two-part finale of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
