It is not necessary to remind anyone that the “Harry Potter” series has gained the cult status and has permanently entered the history of pop culture. For me, as a person born in the 90s, the story of a young wizard with a characteristic scar on his forehead is a symbol of childhood. To this day, I randomly watch individual parts of film screenings and feel pleasant warmth in my heart, although, objectively speaking, not all of them can be considered outstanding productions.
Books, in turn, were the beginning of the adventure with literature and a passion for reading. But again – they are not necessarily works with the highest literary values. However, apart from all assessments and a critical look, millions of people around the world have a great sentiment. These are stories from which I have an impression, it does not grow. The best proof of this is hot discussions accompanying the creation of a new series. For many fans, the original film adaptations are unthinkable, and every attempt to reinterpretation is perceived almost like profanation. Similarly, it was in the case of the “Fantastic Animals” series, which did not gain as much popularity as “Harry Potter”, and the viewers were much more critical.
Before we get the premiere of the serial version of Harry Potter, many months will pass and there will probably be even more controversy. Meanwhile, in Poland, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the book publishing, a unique exhibition “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” was organized. The first volume of the series, “Harry Potter and a philosophical stone”appeared in Polish translation in 2000, and this jubilee became an inspiration to bring this extraordinary exhibition to our country.
“Harry Potter: The Exhibition” was officially opened in Alveria Planet, just near Krakow. Fans of the series can finally visit a magical exhibition, which has already charmed millions of people around the world. We had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the world of the famous wizard and prepared a video report from this visit.
Tom Zaller, president and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions, in an interview with Interia shared the details about the exhibition.
“I have been organizing this type of exhibitions around the world for 25 years. I think it is extremely important that they can be presented in as many places as possible,” said Zaller. – “At the beginning visitors will see the first publishing of books – both in English and Polish. Then they will move to the world of Harry Potter, reproduced with modern visualizations. Costumes and props are waiting for them from all Harry Potter films, but also from the series ‘Fantastic animals’ and the performance ‘Cursed child'” – he added.
“Everyone will find something for themselves – both faithful fans and those who are just starting their adventure with magic,” he assured.
Visitors can look into the Great Hall, forbidden forest or Hagrid’s hut, as well as take part in interactive attractions – brewing potions, planting mandragor or scoring points for their home at Hogwarts. “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” is available in Poland from April 11 to August 17, 2025 at Alvernia Planet in Niechnie near Alwernia, near Krakow.
