This year it was necessary to set a new record at least 7968 guitars and other similar stringed instruments. To play on May 1 at the Wrocław Market Square, all you needed to do was have a guitar and know the five basic chords C/G/D/A/E needed to perform the song. “Hey Joe” popularized by Jimi Hendrix. All types of guitars count towards the record – acoustic, classical, electric and bass. Mandolins, banjos and ukuleles are also acceptable.
In 2023, the record was broken by almost 300 participants. This year's edition of the event is the 22nd edition of the guitar festival, the originator of which is Leszek Cichoński. The organizers announced that Wrocław took part in the campaign this year 7,531 people. “Thank you! Next year we will break the record,” they emphasize.
The Greatest Guitar Orchestra appeared on stage, among others: ChrisJagger (younger brother Mick Jagger With The Rolling Stones), Jan Borysewicz (leader Lady Pank), a world-famous bluesman Vasti Jackson, Shata QS (winner of the sixth edition “Must be the music” in Polsat), bassist Wojtek Pilichowski, Zbigniew Hołdys and Wojciech Waglewski.
For several years, the Guitar World Record has been associated with May 3rd, a three-day event starting the season of outdoor festivals in Poland. Concerts take place on the outdoor stage at the Pergola and in the Centennial Hall.

Dagadan (May 2) and Kult, Dub FX, Paktofonika, PRO8L3M, Karaś/Rogucki, Spiety, Kwiat Jabłoni, Daria ze Śląska, Sokołowski, Hunter, Jelonek, Pablopavo and Ludziki (May 3).
