Glaser is a comedian famous for her sharp, often vulgar humor. She was a frequent guest at roasts, where she brought numerous celebrities to the ground without blinking an eye. She expects her style as Golden Globes host to be closer to the controversial Ricky Gervais than the bland Jo Koy.
The comedian is working intensively on the opening monologue of the gala. In an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter” she admitted that before the ceremony she has a few more standup performances during which she will test jokes. “I want the monologue to be as perfect as possible,” she admitted.
“Not every presenter does this. I’m lucky that I’m a comedian and I can find space to rehearse in front of a live audience. Trust me, they won’t tell anyone these jokes. And even if someone does, nothing will happen, because I have jokes on stock,” she assured.
Glaser revealed that during the performance she asks the audience if she could practice her opening monologue at the Golden Globes in front of them. “And everyone is so excited. They feel like they’re part of something interesting, a little secret — because they are,” she continued.
She also revealed who will definitely be called from the stage. “I can’t help but mention Timothée Chalametbecause now is his moment. I love him in ‘Completely unknown’I want to give him a bouquet for this performance and I don’t know if I’ll be able to talk to him during the afterparty. At the opening, I might have my only chance to tell him, ‘Man, you were so good at this.’ If I can only express it through a joke, I will tell him a joke because I want him to know. It’s going to be quite fun,” Glaser revealed.
