“Godzilla Minus One”: the movie made millions! An unexpected success

“Godzilla Minus One” was the thirty-seventh film in the series and had a budget of $15 million. Although no one expected it, the production brought huge profits, earning money globally as much as $116 million. It also received many prestigious awards, including an Oscar for special effects (beating Hollywood productions with a much larger budget) and nine awards from the Japanese Film Academy. Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan and Guillermo del Toro, among others, expressed their appreciation.
“Godzilla Minus Zero”: what do we know about the sequel?
The sequel turned out to be a matter of time. The title of the sequel was revealed during the Godzilla Fest 2025 organized in Tokyo. It is: “Godzilla Minus Zero”. Tahaski Yamazaki will again be behind the camera, he will also be responsible for the script and will head the special effects department.
“This next chapter is sure to be another landmark moment for the greatest monster to ever dominate the screen,” said David Jesteadt, president of Gkids, which distributes the film in North America.
The Japanese studio Toho posted the official production poster online. We learn from it that The film’s world premiere is scheduled for November 6, 2026.
