On December 1 last year, the latest film about Godzilla – a science fiction action-packed film – debuted on Polish cinema screens “Godzilla Minus One”.
The production took place in post-war Japan. Will the exhausted people survive? Let alone fight? Will the devastated country be able to survive Godzilla's attack?
Takashi Yamazaki (“Returner”), one of the most outstanding Japanese directors, was responsible for the direction, script and special effects. The main roles were played by: Ryunosuke Kamiki, Yuki Yamada, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Minami Hamabe, Munetaka Aoki and Sakura Ando.
The production turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the end of last year. It grossed over $100 million in theaters worldwide. Moreover, it was awarded an Oscar for special effects, despite the fact that it competed with productions with much larger budgets (“Napoleon”, “The Creator”, “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One”).
Five months after its theatrical release, “Godzilla Minus One” is finally available for streaming. It will enrich the offer of the Amazon Prime platform. Its premiere is scheduled for May 3.
