“Fallout”: Who is Ella Purnell? The Prime Video series brought her the greatest fame, but you know her from the cult production

However, Ella Purnell began her career with a role in the film “Don't Leave Me” (2010) and with performances on stage. She later appeared in the films “Candy”, “Kick-Ass 2”, “Maleficent”, “Wild”, “Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children”. In 2021, she starred in Zack Snyder's “Army of the Dead.” In recent years, her career took off with a bang – she played the role of Jackie in the series “Yellowjackets” and won the hearts of fans as the above-mentioned Jinx.

Since the premiere “Fallout” the actress is becoming more and more popular, and viewers, who were delighted with the adaptation of a game about a post-apocalyptic future, from subsequent interviews I can learn more and more interesting facts about working on the series.

In an interview with GQ, Purnell revealed that one of the scenes in the final episode was supposed to look completely different. As we know, the main character discovered the truth about what her father did and what her mother's fate really was. In the final minutes, Lucy learns that the ghoul accompanying Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury) is her mother. He must then make a terrible decision to ease her suffering.

“We reshot this scene because initially we had a completely different idea for the ending,” says the actress. “This scene was supposed to be very emotional, there were going to be a lot of tears and wailing. But it didn't suit us. We concluded that if Lucy was going to go to the wasteland, she would have to undergo a transformation. “Her despair must turn into something stronger,” he adds, suggesting that Lucy will be… tougher. And therefore, she will begin to resemble the Ghoul (Walton Goggins).

“Lucy does exactly what the Ghoul did to Roger in episode four.”

“She learns from him, becomes him; she loses her morale.”

The latest Prime Video series quickly turned out to be one of the platform's biggest hits. According to Variety, the series was watched by 65 million viewers in the first 16 days. This means “Fallout” is here the second most popular series and the most watched since the premiere of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Fire” (the production debuted in the summer of 2022).

“The action of the games is set in the 22nd and 23rd centuries, among the retrofuturistic realities of post-apocalyptic America. It directly refers to the 1950s, when people were truly afraid of nuclear war. Part of humanity lives in self-sufficient bunkers called “Vaults”. The series follows these tropes, presenting viewers will see three main characters: Lucy (an inhabitant of Vault 33), Ghoul (a loner wandering the Wasteland) and Maximus (a member of the Brotherhood of Steel) – we read in the official description.
