“Love is Blind: Poland” from the first episodes it arouses great emotions among viewers. It remains at the top of the TOP 10 ranking. In the program, couples get to know each other in unusual conditions and check whether their feelings will survive the tests of everyday life. On Sunday, May 24 at On June 19, a special episode – “Reunion” will be broadcast. We will find out what the participants’ lives are like after the program.
People who took part in the experiment look for true love, form couples and decide to get engaged before they see each other face to face. They meet in the so-called “pods” – small rooms separated by a wall. After the engagement, couples return to everyday life and start preparing for the wedding. The program asks whether a feeling built without eye contact has a chance to survive in real life and whether it is possible to love another person regardless of appearance, age or status.
Fans of the program not only follow the developing relationships of the participants, but also ask themselves the question: what does the production of a dating experiment really look like? Netflix lifted the veil and revealed some behind-the-scenes secrets. Here are the most interesting ones!
“Love is Blind: Poland”. Thousands of applications and only 30 participants
Before the participants cross the threshold of the booths, the production must conduct a multi-stage casting. Nearly 6,000 people applied for the first Polish edition, of which 15 women and 15 men were selected.
As Diana Tatarca from Netflix emphasizes, it was crucial to find authentic people, ready for honest conversations and real involvement in the relationship – not just a TV adventure. The production also notes that the program does not include a script or behind-the-scenes hints. It is the participants who decide with whom they want to build a bond.
“The most important criterion is to find people with sincere motivation, who are really looking for love and are ready for marriage, not just adventures on TV. People who are emotionally open, ready to talk honestly – both about beautiful and difficult issues – and stories that viewers can identify with, so that when they sit in front of the screen they can say: ‘I know how she/he feels’,” Tatarca said.
225 dates in one day
The first day in the cabins is a real dating marathon. Every single woman dating every single woman gives as many as 225 conversations in one day. Initially, the dates last eight minutes each, but over time – when participants narrow down the group of people they are interested in – the meetings extend to up to several hours a day.
In total, participants spend ten days in the cabins. This is where relationships move from casual conversations to very personal confessions. Only after the engagement do the fiancées see each other for the first time.
Five couples who, according to the production, have the greatest chance of getting married, move on to the next stage of the experiment.
What’s really in the golden cups?
Golden cups have become one of the symbols of the “Love is Blind” format. Contrary to viewers’ theories, they do not always contain alcoholic drinks. Most often, participants drink water, tea, coffee or juice from them – according to their preferences. Interestingly, over 100 golden goblets and glasses were used during the production of the first season.
Who is responsible for the participants’ styling?
Although many fans assume that a team of stylists work on the appearance of the participants, the reality is different. Participants are responsible for their own styling, hairstyles and makeup during most of the program. Professional support appears only when choosing wedding dresses and suits and on the day of the ceremony.
The weddings in “Love is Blind: Poland” are real
When couples reach the final stage of the experiment, they choose the guest list, wedding cake flavor, bouquets, wedding rings and music. Viewers are also often interested in the issue of engagement rings and wedding rings after a breakup. The production reveals that participants can keep them as a souvenir or give them to the production or a former partner.

The most important thing, however, is this weddings in “Love is Blind: Poland” have full legal force. The ceremonies are conducted by authorized officials, and the marriages concluded in the program are completely legal. This means that love that begins in cabins can end in a true “happily ever after.”
