Director Ron Howard reached for the true story that happened in the 1930s. Several people were fed up with the world around them, full of aggressive politics, social pressure and wars. They decided to give up civilization and live where they could create rules and rules. They dreamed of a simple life in harmony with nature, free of conventions and restrictions.
However, the combination of beliefs and temperaments of the philosopher, doctor, conservatives and eccentric baron meant caused their utopia very quickly to resemble hell. The tension increased, the conflicts gained strength, and the insulation only intensified paranoia.

The German doctor and thinker Friedrich Ritter settles with his lover on a desert island in the Galapagos archipelago. He believes that only away from Western civilization can be the master of his own fate. However, he will quickly understand that the reality on the island is far from paradise ideas. Raw nature, difficulty with access to water and deadly predators will soon prove to be the smallest of its problems. The would -be paradise will become hell thanks to the next six settlers who, like Ritter, dream of a new beginning.
