He joined the cast in the second part of the cinematic saga Austin Butler in the role of the baron’s nephew, the psychopathic Feyd-Rautha.

“(We) really try to dig into the humanity of (the characters). The idea is that the bad guy in the world doesn’t feel like he’s the bad guy. He feels like he’s the hero of his own story. And that can be hard with some characters; with others it’s easier, but you have to not judge the character and you have to find a way to feel motivated in any of your actions. We had a lot of conversations and we created this together,” Butler said about his role.

In one of the interviews, the young actor admitted that he created his character based on the performance of his older co-star – Stellan Skarsgård. He wanted Feyd-Rautha to sound like his uncle. “I felt that because (Feyd-Rautha) grew up with the Baron that he would be a big influence on him in many ways. So I started thinking about the way he talks and the connection to the person you see from childhood as having the most power, and which you end up imitating in some way,” he admitted.

The 32-year-old is almost unrecognizable on screen. The actor was so immersed in his role that he did not hesitate to improvise on the set. One such moment was the kiss scene between Feyd-Rautha and Baron Harkonnen. “A kiss with Stellan Skarsgård? Oh, yes! He’s ready for anything. The best. It’s always about how you try to influence someone else,” the actor replied with a laugh when asked about this scene.
