Dua Lipa praises the Polish book online. A wave of comments

Recently, she noticed a book by a Polish author, Tomasz Jędrowski. A writer born in Germany but writing in Polish, he published a book “Swimming in the Dark” at the beginning of 2020.

In the post, the star included a short summary of the story contained in the cards. The author's literary debut tells the story of the love between two men – Janusz and Ludwik – and its background is Warsaw from the times of the Polish People's Republic. At the same time, Dua Lipa shared her reflection on the situation of LGBTQIA+ people in Poland in the past and today.

“When I read 'Swimming in the Dark', I feel as if I was looking at the most intimate moments of self-discovery. It is a poetic and suspenseful reading, accompanied by a feeling of silent anger caused by the persecution of the LGBTQIA+ community, which Poland faced then and still struggles with today. It is beautiful a story that I hope you will love as much as I do,” we read in the post.

The author of the book can certainly celebrate great success. Dua Lipa is considered extremely influential, and her recommendation may translate into an increase in the popularity of his work. The post has already gained almost 240,000 reactions. Polish – but also foreign – fans are delighted with the singer's choice. “It's an absolutely wonderful book, Dua has good taste”; “This is such a great book, I'm glad it was mentioned here”; “A wonderful book.” There is also a classic comment in such a situation: “Poland prevails!”
