“Detective” For many viewers, this is one of the best series of recent years. At the moment, the production has had four seasons, each of which told a different, dark crime story. The first season took place in Louisiana and contained deep reflections on good, evil and fate. The case was investigated by two experienced detectives, Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Marta Hart (Woody Harrelson).
For several months, there have been rumors that a new installment of the series will be created and will be directed by Nic Pizzolatto. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were supposed to meet again on the set. Fans’ hopes were high, especially when it turned out that Pizzolatto and McConaughey were joining forces on another project – a film about the adventures of American detective Mike Hammer, the hero of a series of novels by Mickey Spillane.
The detective’s books have sold over 250 million copies, and Mike Hammer has served as an inspiration to other writers. Dirty Harry, Jack Reacher and James Bond are based on him. As Deadline reminds, Ian Fleming himself (author of the adventures of agent 007 – editor’s note), Bond was supposed to be the British answer to Hammer.
Unfortunately, Woody Harrelson recently dispelled all doubts. He will not return to “Detective”.
“Matthew is funny,” Harrelson commented on his colleague’s words on 3rd Hour of Today, writes Deadline. “Honestly, there’s no chance (…) I’m glad it turned out great, and making another season (with these characters – editor’s note) would destroy it.”
However, fans will be able to see both actors in another joint project.
“It’s going to be a half-hour comedy and I hope people enjoy it,” Harrelson said.
