Creton came to superhero movies from Sundance. He made his mark with the independent “Warehouse 12”. Later he directed, among others, the social drama “Just Justice”.
In 2021, the Marvel comic book adaptation premiered “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”which is considered one of the better films from the House of Ideas after “Avengers: Endgame”. Cretton is working on its sequel. He is also involved in the series “Wonder Man”, about a superhero who works as a movie actor.
Cretton was also the original director of the fifth installment of “Avengers,” when it was still called “Kang Dynasty.” He dropped out due to a tight schedule. After firing Jonathan Majors, who played the title villain, the production was renamed “Avengers: Doomsday.” Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo will be responsible for directing it.
Details about the plot of “Spider-Man 4” are not known. Rumors speak of a more down-to-earth story focusing on the war of New York crimes in which Peter Parker and several other superheroes get entangled, as well as a continuation of the multiverse storyline from “No way home”.
No release date has been announced for the film, but unofficially it is said to be 2026. It is known that Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are working on the script.
