News of the 28-year-old’s death appeared on Thursday at noon on the profile of the “Na Cyplu” Recreation Center in Spychów. That’s right there Daniel Kowacki he co-created the visual setting of the events, and his characteristic graphics were used on T-shirts, sweatshirts and gadgets that were associated with the holiday atmosphere of the resort.
The moving entry contains words that clearly show how multidimensional the artist was:
“We regret to inform you that at the age of 28, Daniel Kowacki, a member of the Mr. Manager family, a Friend of Cypla, the author of the drawings that you will find on your Cypla T-shirts, sweatshirts and mugs, the guitarist, vocalist and lyricist of the band Fomotok, who played a special concert at our NieFestiwal in September, died suddenly at the age of 28,” it was reported.

Salamon & Fitzsimons: “Music is our refuge and shelter” (INTERVIEW)
Co-creator of Fomotok and songwriter
Daniel Kowacki was one of two people behind the project Fomotokwhich started in 2020 together with Marcin Parcheta. Their first official recording, released three years later, received wide attention. The single “Wzorce” opened the way to further publications, and the song “Instagram” brought the duo distinction on Spotify, where they reached the top of the “Fresh Finds Polska” playlist and were shown on the cover.
Despite its short experience in the industry, the project gained recognition thanks to its alternative sound and characteristic visual layer, for which Kowacki was largely responsible. However, his artistic activity was not limited only to music. As a graphic designer, he created recognizable drawings related to the center in Spychów and was involved in local events.
Information about the farewell ceremony was provided by the artist’s family, emphasizing that the ceremony would be intimate. In the obituary published, among others, by Julia Henel – the musician’s partner – there was a message:
“The funeral ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Municipal Cemetery at 117 Radomska Street in Częstochowa. The family asks not to express condolences.”
It was Henel, an audience organization specialist at the Ateneum Theater in Warsaw, who was one of the people who most often accompanied the artist to cultural events. In a comment published by the center, her loved one wrote touching words:
“I saw Daniel for the first time in my daughter’s eyes. In a light of joy that I had never seen in her before. I heard Daniel for the last time in my daughter’s despair. In a heartbreaking howl that I will never forget. I feel very lucky. The chosen one. That I could get to know Him better and that He allowed me to love Him so quickly.”
A loss that will be felt by the alternative scene
Although Fomotok was just starting to build its position on the music market, many listeners noticed a breath of freshness in the duo. Sounds based on electronics and Kowacki’s melancholic vocals appealed to both alternative music listeners and fans of new, experimental projects.
The fact that their first single immediately appeared on playlists promoting young artists was not a coincidence. Spotify Polska has been actively supporting independent artists in recent years, and being featured on the cover of “Fresh Finds Polska” is an distinction that has repeatedly helped artists reach a wider audience.
