Correlations festival: iconic Polish films with Narrations Łona, Matylda Damięcka and Dorota Masłowska

Second edition of the festival films with original narratives will take place on days November 20-23 at the DCF cinema in Wrocław. 11 screenings have been prepared for viewers, including 6 premiere versions of Polish classics (including “Curse of the Snake Valley”, “Cruise” and “Sexmission”) with the literary comments of Adam “Łona” Zieliński, Matilda Damięcka, Maciek Kurowicki, Sylwia Chutnik, Małgorzata Lebda and Bartek Kędzierski.

Films with original narratives, including “Wolf” Marek Piestrakwhich returned to the large screen thanks to the interpretation Dorota Masłowskathey have already been presented in various cinemas throughout Poland. Narrators’ voices are woven between original dialogues. This is a kind of subjective showing around the film, interpreting it in a free, often emotional way, thanks to which everyone – also people with visual or hearing restrictions – watch the film through the eyes of the narrator.

“The inspiration for the creation of the festival was the idea of ​​availability, and above all audio description, i.e. a verbal description of what is happening on the screen” – says Piotr Krzykwaoriginator and director of the Correlation festival, which has been working with availability in movies for years.

This year the narratives for films were written and recorded by: rapper Adam “Łona” Zielińskiactress, singer and illustrator Matylda Damięckawriter and activist Sylwia Chutnikauthor of texts and leader of the Hurt band Maciej Kurowickipoet and prose writer Małgorzata Lebda and director and screenwriter Bartek Kędzierski.

We will watch them with their eyes “Curse of the Snake Valley” dir. Marek Piestrak, “Cruise” dir. Marek Piwowski, “Sexmission” dir. Juliusz Machulski, “Sunny clock” dir. Andrzej Kondratiuk, documentary films Władysław Ślesicki and “Porn” dir. Marek Koterski in the interpretation Czesia, Marcel and Colonel – Heroes of the series Włatcy Móch “.

The festival will open a movie “Curseand the hose valleys ” Marek Piestrak, who will “tell” the rapper Adam “Łona” Zieliński. “This is the most soaring act of adventure cinema from the countries of folk democracy,” says Łona.

The inauguration of the festival will be broadcast from Wrocław to the cinema of Luna in Warsaw, the Culture Center in Lublin (as part of the Lublin Film Festival), Cinema of Spektrum in Gdańsk and to the Pionier 1907 cinema in Szczecin, the hometown of Łon.

Three last year’s titles will also return to the large screen. Artur Andrus will show around the work “Thin and others” dir. Henryk clubs – a poetic ballad about workers-Avanturniki with compositions of Wojciech Kilar and the voice of Zdzisława Sośnicka, and Michał Witkowski will tell “Debt” dir. Krzysztof Krauze – One of the most important Polish film works of the transformation period. We’ll see too “It’s just rock” dir. Paweł Karpiński with narrative Dorota Masłowska. The film includes icons of the native music scene, such as Lady Pank, Dezerter or the Closed Branch.

The premiere screenings will be preceded by animations with original narratives, including Daria from Silesia, Beata KwiatkowsKiej, Konrad Imiela Whether Tomek Tryzawhich were created in cooperation with Cinema – Festival of New Media Arts and was presented in September on the walls of Wrocław Nadodrze as part of the “Złanocka” project. In turn, after the screenings, meetings with the authors of the narrative and invited guests are planned.
