Coachella 2024: Lana del Rey fans panic and Blur's last concert

This year, Coachella delighted many listeners with a diverse line-up, musical surprises and top-class performances. However, not everything could go according to the stars' and organizers' wishes at such a huge event. In addition to world-class concerts, viewers had the opportunity to participate in small scandals and affairs that quickly circulated in the media.

Last weekend for the show Lana Del Rey a young star who has been breaking popularity records for several years joined – Billie Eilish (check). Recordings of their joint performance conquered the Internet, and fans of both artists were delighted with this surprise. They also speculated who might appear as a special guest during Lana's performance on April 19. Most of them bet on Taylor Swift, but it turned out that it was not her who appeared on stage on Friday. At the side of an artist known for her hit “Summertime Sadness” this time she sang Camila Cabello. They performed a song together “I Luv It” in a slower version than the original one. Despite the artists' successful performance, Taylor's fans did not hide their disappointment, as many of them reported on social media. “Everyone expected Taylor Swift, but they got Camila instead…” wrote one of the Internet users.

Last weekend, Blur's performance went viral in the media due to a minor scandal. The audience didn't have a great time and only a handful of fans responded to the songs. During one of the songs, a nervous singer Damon Albarn he appealed to the audience to get more involved. “You can do it better,” he said into the microphone. However, the listeners didn't react, so Albarn – in his own style – said: “You'll never see us again, so you might as well f***ing sing it. Do you understand?” – he got irritated. However, the threat was not fulfilled, as the team returned on the second weekend of the event. Tensions were high and the musicians still refused to play their biggest hits such as “Parklife”Whether “Country House”. “This is probably our last concert,” Albarn admitted at one point without further explanation. Does this mean the end of the current era and a return in another musical incarnation, or the final end of Blur? Time will tell.

Canadian singer Grimes began her Saturday performance with a humorous self-criticism. At the beginning of the concert, she played a “Breaking News”-style video on the screens from her previous performance at Coachella. That one turned out to be quite a disaster – technical problems led to its interruption. The artist tried to atone for her sins and turn everything into a joke. She also issued an apology on social media for the previous weekend. “I don't know if there's ever been a more rehearsed and polished Grimes performance,” she added, referring to her latest concert.

During the performance of the American rapper Ken Carson there were many casual listeners in the crowd who weren't his fans. There are indications that these were people who only came to listen to Lana Del Rey, and unfortunate circumstances meant that they also attended the rapper's concert. They were terrified by the aggressive crowd and Ken Carson's music. Panic broke out and some participants cried, wanting to get out of the audience. What does the artist himself say about this? “If you're scared, you should have stayed f***ing home,” he said from the stage.

Girls from a Korean girl group LE SSERAPIM received a lot of criticism after their first performance at Coachella. Some accused them of lacking vocal skills. During the second weekend, the singers tried to show that they sang live. Two of them deliberately omitted fragments of their parts to show that there is no recording that would sing for them. However, there are still many accusations of lip-syncing on the Internet. Social media users accuse the singers of singing with loud music in the background to mask their real voices.
