Jared Harris’s multi-dimensional, moving performances have become an important part of the quality TV series revolution, introducing to television the quality we previously knew from cinema and theater. For great artistic sensitivity and extraordinary ability to create characters that will be remembered for a long time – this is an excerpt from the justification for awarding a special award to Jared Harris, which the actor will receive on the evening of December 4, in Warsaw during the BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon. Also on December 4, Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Kinoteka, festival participants will be able to meet him during a Q&A, which is carried out as part of the cinema screening of the series “Chernobyl”.
The Cutting Edge Award is given to creators who blur the boundaries between the world of TV series and film. They are constantly looking for new and original ways of telling episodic stories and breaking genre conventions. They follow paths that require commitment, effectiveness and consistency. The award aims to distinguish personalities who tackle bold and significant topics, promote diversity and break stereotypes through their actions.
It emphasizes the importance of ambitious and quality projects that not only inspire other creators, but also change viewers’ attitudes. This is a distinction for those who expand the boundaries of TV series narrative. It will be awarded for the first time during BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon – a series festival that will take place at Kinoteka in Warsaw from December 4 to 8, 2024.
