Netflix is not lacking in produced real events, but it was the latest thriller “Black Widow” that has managed to attract the attention of viewers around the world in recent days. The Spanish film, which debuted on the platform on May 30, instantly climbed the top of a viewership letter in 62 countries, according to Flixpatrol.
The plot of the film is based on a loud murder of 2017, which shook the inhabitants of Valencia. A man’s body was found in the parking lot – Arturo Ferrera Puiga. The police begin the investigation, and his young wife becomes the main suspect. Production gradually reveals the backstage of dramatic events that led to the tragedy.
Although the black widow is gaining popularity among website users, the reviewers are divided. Criticism does not apply to acting or technical implementation. The problem is the script, which is accused of a lack of depth and emotional commitment.

Ivana Baquero appears in the main roles, known from the “Fauna Labyrinth”, Carmen Machi and Tristán Ulloa. Carlos Tydes, who previously worked on such productions as “Velvet” or “El Caso Asunta”, is responsible for directing. The film won a rating of 6.2/10 on IMDB. This is a result that suggests that although production has not impressed everyone, it has a group of loyal recipients. Is it worth turning on the “black widow”? If you are interested in criminal stories inspired by reality and you are not disturbed by a less intense narrative, this Spanish proposal can be an interesting option for the evening.
